NFL legend Rob Gronkowski heaped tons of praise on Darnell Washington, and the massive Pittsburgh Steelers pass catcher has just responded to the admiration.
Earlier in the week, Gronkowski compared himself to Washington, leading to the Pittsburgh Steelers tight end to share his initial reaction with reporters.
“That’s crazy,” Washington said about Gronkowski’s compliment. “Everybody knows his status, his whole resume. To me, I feel like that’s special in a way.”
Washington has experienced a Year 3 breakout under the Aaron Rodgers-led offense, setting career highs in receptions (26) and receiving yards (313) while also hauling in one touchdown, all while being regarded as one of the top blocking tight ends in the league.
The massive Steelers tight end still has three more games this season to further impress Gronkowski, with his next opportunity coming against the Detroit Lions this Sunday.
