Aaron Jones injury: Vikings RB questionable to return in Week 16

Update: Aaron Jones went to the locker room for further evaluation and has been ruled as questionable to return to Sunday’s game.

Minnesota Vikings running back Aaron Jones has exited the team’s Week 16 matchup vs. the New York Giants with an ankle injury. He entered the blue medical tent and was seen jogging on the sidelines afterwards trying to work through the ailment. Shortly after his exit, backup running back Jordan Mason also suffered an ankle injury and had to be carted to the locker room.

Jones is wrapping up his second season with the Vikings, one that has already been stunted by injury. He missed an entire month due to a hamstring injury and hasn’t quite reached the highs of his career year last season. The veteran Pro Bowler entered this week with 410 rushing yards and just one touchdown on the round for the year.

With both Jones and Mason out of the game at the moment, Zavier Scott has stepped in to handle duties out of the Minnesota backfield.

This post will be updated as more info about Jones’ injury becomes available.
