The German coach of FC Barcelona, Hansi Flick, avoided problems with the Spanish team in the event that his star Lamine Yamal is called up on Friday for La Roja's next matches, and assured that the young attacker is fine.
“It's not my problem if he goes with the national team. He is training very, very well, it is not a question of saying if he is 100% recovered because it is a process. But he is fine and if he can play, he will play,” said Flick in a press conference prior to the clash against Bruges in the Champions League.
Regarding Wednesday's opponent, the German coach stressed that he likes having the ball and that he will go for the victory as well.
“It will be a tough game. We want to win the three points. It is about attitude and mentality. We have had a great training session, and that is what I want to see from the team,” he said.
He also alluded to the problems in the defensive aspect after the departure of Iñigo Martínez to Saudi Arabia. The Basque center back “was a great leader,” he said, but “we have changed many things,” he added.
The German coach stressed that his three centre-backs – Pau Cubarsí, Eric García and Ronald Araújo – are doing well, although he does not rule out other options to strengthen the defense.
