If you’re one of those people who prefer to do all their shopping at the last minute – like really last minute on Christmas Eve – Walmart has you covered.
The nation’s largest retailer has pushed back its deadline for Christmas Eve orders, allowing Express Delivery for items ordered as late as 5 p.m. local time. That’s an hour later than last year.
Walmart stores will open at 6 a.m. on Christmas Eve and close at 6 p.m. Stores are closed Christmas Day but will be open regular hours on Dec. 26.
Delivery deadlines
Walmart’s holiday delivery deadlines are:
- Standard shipping – Order until 12:30 p.m. local time on Dec. 23 for arrival by Christmas Day.
- Same-day pickup and delivery – Order until noon local time on Dec. 24.
- Express Delivery – Order until 5 p.m. local time on Dec. 24 for delivery in as fast as one hour.
The change is just Walmart’s latest emphasis on delivery and speed. The retailer said it now has the ability to reach 95% of U.S. households in under three hours.
