New England Patriots offensive tackle Will Campbell will not be playing in Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens.
The rookie lineman is still recovering from the MCL injury he suffered in the team’s Week 12 game against the Cincinnati Bengals. He was placed on injured reserve and will be eligible to return for the Patriots’ regular season finale against the Miami Dolphins in Week 18.
Vederian Lowe has been working in as the top left tackle for the Patriots with Campbell sidelined. He is an experienced veteran with 23 starts under his belt. The Patriots are hoping that experience goes a long way while the team waits on Campbell’s health to improve.
A video emerged of Campbell arriving at the stadium ahead of the team’s Week 15 game against the Buffalo Bills last week. He was wearing an “I love Drake Maye” t-shirt and walking noticeably better. So the hope is that he’s on the mend and trending toward an eventual return for the team’s postseason run.
But for a third straight game, they’ll have the unfortunate task of preparing without him against a tough Ravens team.
