Idris Elba is waxing poetic about his new wax figure.
PEOPLE’s former Sexiest Man Alive53, has now been immortalized in wax form at Madame Tussauds London, the museum revealed on Dec. 19.
The English actor expressed disbelief upon laying eyes on his wax figure in an Instagram video shared by the museum. At one point, the acclaimed Luther alum and Marvel Cinematic Universe star called his mom, Eve.
“I am speechless literally. Wow. Hold on, I’ve got to call my mum. She’s gonna freak,” he said, before connecting with Eve on FaceTime.
His mom replied on the phone, “Oh, my God!”
His wax figure is dressed in an outfit that he wore in July 2024 when Idris met with King Charles to discuss youth violent crime and The King’s Trust.
While he was nearly speechless at the museum, the activist later issued a statement about working with Madame Tussauds London on the figure.
“It’s truly an honour to be recognised in this way and even more special to know this other version of me will be standing tall in London,” he said. “So, even when I’m away, a part of me is always at home.”
The musician added, “The process has been fascinating. It’s not dissimilar to prepping for a movie role — working with talented artists to flesh out the character, getting the costume just right, but this time it’s for me!”

“It’s really surreal to see another version of me standing in Madame Tussauds London, it feels like a full circle moment,” he concluded.
Aside from acting and activism, Idris is also a husband to Sabrina36, and a dad to daughter Isan, 23, and son Winston, 11.
